Peacocks, Exams and the Super Bowl

There are a number of wild peacocks on the ISB campus. On mornings when I have early classes, I often see the brightly colored male peacocks walking around. Yet, any time I happen to have my camera on me - usually specifically to photograph them - they are conveniently not around. Perhaps those are the mornings when they're fighting off King Cobras, which I've learned are also among the wildlife on campus. If bitten by one, you have 45 minutes to get to the hospital before death occurs. Pretty fun stuff.

Today was the first day of exams for ISB and my last. I had two exams, which are two hours each and at scheduled times. I was able to finish both of my exams in under the allotted time and neither seemed overly difficult. It's quite a change of pace from the five hour exams at Darden. To put things in perspective, I'll refer to a group presentation in one of my classes last week. Woodson and I were in the same group and probably spent about twenty minutes doing actual work. After the presentations, the professor railed one of the three groups and said ours was "damn good." So, the rigor here is fairly questionable.

Apparently the Super Bowl was on today (yes, Super Bowl Monday). Given the time change, the big game kicked off at about 5am local time. Needless to say, but I was not up to watch the Saints tackle the Colts... pun intended. Even if I had been up, I'm not sure it would have been televised here anyway.

Now that I'm done with school, I have five weeks of freedom ahead of me before the next term starts in Virginia. I'm going to spend the next two days at school and then, on Wednesday night, depart for Bangkok to begin my trip to Southeast Asia...
